North Park Visitors Bureau Mission Statement:

The North Park Visitors Bureau (NPVB) is a new trade association formed by lodging business owners in the Town of Walden as well as the wider area of Jackson County. The Bureau's mission is to pursue improvement of business conditions in the North Park area, placing priority on activities undertaken to promote tourism and recreation in North Park. Specifically, the NPVB is developing a marketing program to increase public awareness of the diversity of recreatioal activities: industry trade shows, an internet presence, targeted advertising, sponsorship of events, and other venues to be identified in the future. These activities will be designed for the benefit of the entire area, and not for any one business. We believe that improving lodging utilization in the area will benefit all businesses located in North Park.

Funding for these activities will be provided through the application of a lodging surcharge of 3%. The NPVB has been incorporated as a non-profit trade association, and 501 (c) (6) tax exempt status has been approved by the IRS. As of August 1, 2007, each of the lodging members of the Bureau will begin charging the 3% lodging surcharge to its customers.

The voting membership of the Bureau will be considering various marketing programs and then developing budgets for the implementation of those plans. The Bureau will be seeking relationships and partnerships with the loding, tourism, and recreational industries to create opportunities to promote the North Park area, as well as support and continue the many efforts already underway within the local business community.
