Skiing, Snowmobiling & Snowshoeing

Winter in North Park can be extreme. Please be prepared for sudden weather changes. Wear layers of clothing, take water and food, make sure someone knows where you are going, and never travel alone. Click here for the complete Winter Recreation Guide from the State Parks web site.

Cross-CountrySki Trails and Snowshoeing

The Buffalo Pass area, Grizzly Campground area and the Gould area have groomed cross-country ski trails. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing can be done anywhere on the Routt National Forest. Maps of individual trails on the National Forest are available at the Parks Ranger District Office. Trails in the Colorado State Forest can be found on the State Parks web site.

 

Snowmobiling

Northpark has many miles of groomed and nongroomed snowmobile trails near Walden Colorado. Use the interactive map at SledCity.com to access trail maps and the latest trail conditions.
